Samuel Nimoson Jr.
2022
Samuel Nimoson Jr. is a drummer, solo artist, and producer based in Stavanger. As one of Norway’s most sought-after percussionists Samuel has built a reputation as a dynamic live and studio musician. He also runs a studio in downtown Stavanger, where he records drums and produces music for other artists. His extensive experience shines through in his work, giving him a distinct edge as both a solo artist and producer. Samuel has played with acts like Bohem, Supersoaker, and Stavangerkameratene, and his commitment to high-quality, genre-fluid music sets him apart. As a solo artist, he blends singing and rapping, using his lyrics to explore themes of identity, desire, success, politics, self-expression, and oppression.
His debut single, "really really really," was well received by P3 Urørt, earning a recommendation and review from Eskil Olaf Vestre. He later toured the UK, performing at the legendary Troubadour nightclub in London—where icons like Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, and Joni Mitchell once debuted. With a groovy, urban, and playful sound, Samuel crafts music that stirs emotions you didn’t even know you had.

2022
After making a name for himself as Jonahh—with four songs in rotation on NRK P3 and six tracks recommended by the Urørt editorial team—dear jonah is stepping into a new era and evolving into the artist he was always meant to be. Since 2021, he has immersed himself in the songwriting and production world, surrounding himself with inspirational producers and songwriters to refine his craft. He released a steady stream of music under Jonahh, but within last year - a lot has changed. Finding the producers he truly wanted to collaborate with, he found his musical language—a defining sound that now shapes his upcoming album.
A new name signifies a new chapter, while still honoring the steps it took to get there.
With performances at multiple Nordic festivals like Mablis Festivalen (2022), Capella Party (2022-2023), Utopia (2023) and Sørveiv (2023) and a track record of sharing the stage with Isah, Kapteinen, and Sløtface, dear jonah is no stranger to the live scene. He opened for Chris Abolade in Folken in Stavanger in 2023, and had a solo show in December 2024 at Checkpoint Charlie. Having previously worked with the Danish label, Nordic Music Society, he is now moving forward independently, fully in control of his artistic vision.
